U.S. Curling Makes History in Mixed Doubles at the 2026 Winter Olympics

CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, ItalyKorey Dropkin and Cory Thiesse delivered a breakthrough performance in mixed doubles curling at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The American duo rallied through the semifinal with a dramatic 9-8 victory over Italy, securing the United States’ first Olympic medal in mixed doubles curling and advancing to the gold-medal match — a historic first for the event since its Olympic debut in 2018.

In a tightly contested final, Dropkin and Thiesse fell 6-5 to Sweden’s sibling team of Isabella and Rasmus Wranå, earning the silver medal. Thiesse’s podium finish also marked the first Olympic curling medal ever for an American woman.
